We are hiring an Engineering Manager as the first technical hire for our client. You’ll function as a “player-coach” — writing production code while shaping the engineering culture, processes, and early technical direction. You’ll work directly with the US-based co-founder and help build the founding engineering team.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬
Technical Leadership & Strategy
Partner with US co-founder on architecture & roadmap.
Write clean, scalable Django/Python code (50–70% initially).
Drive code reviews, standards, and best practices.
Convert strategy into actionable technical plans.
Team Building & Mentorship
Build and scale the engineering culture from day one.
Lead hiring for core roles, starting with Senior Full-Stack Engineer.
Mentor engineers and run performance guidance.
Grow into managing a 3–5 person dev team.
Project & Delivery Management
Own delivery timelines using Linear.
Lead stand-ups, planning, and progress updates.
Balance feature delivery with technical debt.
Ensure smooth communication with stakeholders.
Innovation & AI Integration
Leverage AI tools (Claude, Cursor IDE) for productivity.
Establish 10x workflows using AI-assisted development.
Keep the team updated with modern AI-driven practices.

Technical Skills
5+ years Django/Python experience.
Strong PostgreSQL knowledge.
Experience with HTMX + Django templates.
REST API design expertise.
Solid Git and software architecture fundamentals.

Leadership Experience
2+ years leading projects or mentoring teams.
Proven ownership of complex software delivery.
Agile workflow experience.

Communication : Strong English communication for global collaboration.
