UI-UX Designer
Role Overview
Role Mission
To translate user needs into intuitive, accessible, and scalable designs for web and mobile, owning the end-to-end UX flow from research and wireframes to polished, developer-ready components, and driving design system maturity across squads.
Technical Ecosystem
Figma (Expert: auto-layout, components, variants, prototyping). Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud or Sketch to support asset creation when needed. Strong foundation in HTML/CSS for realistic handoff, and a thorough understanding of design systems, responsive/adaptive layouts, and grid systems. Adherence to iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design, and compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards. Prototyping and user-flow tools: Framer, ProtoPie, Miro, FigJam (beyond Figma Prototype). Analytics and testing tools: Hotjar, Maze, GA4 for validating design decisions. Version control and collaboration: Git basics, Jira, Notion. Experience maintaining/designing design systems and tokens, and applying accessible design across platforms.
Performance Expectations
Within the first 6-12 months, establish and evolve a scalable design system with components, tokens, and documentation; deliver high-fidelity UI for core product experiences; provide developer-ready handoffs and QA collaboration; run usability studies and iterate on findings; ensure accessibility conformance; partner with product and engineering to ship features with measurable impact.
Ideal Persona
Strong collaborator and communicator who advocates for users, thrives in cross-functional teams, embraces feedback, and balances creativity with pragmatic constraints. Proactive, detailed-oriented, and comfortable working in an Agile environment. Upholds inclusive, accessible design and can articulate rationale behind design decisions.
Requirement Rationale
Mandatory skills (Figma, HTML/CSS, design systems, accessibility standards, prototyping tools, analytics) enable end-to-end delivery and credible handoffs to engineering. The optional items (Adobe CC/Sketch, motion design, tokens, agile experience) enhance versatility but are not strictly required; candidates with strong core capabilities can succeed even if they lack those extras.
