Role Mission

Our client’s traffic studies backend powers the end-to-end work from field deployment to a published report. You will own the system, automate routine steps, and design for configurability so ad-hoc requests (new city, new sensor, new metric, shorter timelines) are handled with small extensions rather than rewrites, while ensuring traceability and timeliness to cities.

Technical Ecosystem

Python services on AWS, with deployments on ECS/EC2; S3 event data pipelines; Postgres for durable storage; IAM for access control. You will work with vision-pipeline components, an annotation workflow, and internal tooling (Retool) to support operators and stakeholders. Naming tools explicitly: Python, AWS ECS/EC2, AWS S3, AWS IAM, Postgres, Retool.

Performance Expectations

• End-to-end ownership of the study pipeline from ingestion to city portal publication.
• Automate routine steps (stats entry, reprocessing, report assembly) so each study runs the same way with minimal human intervention.
• Enable ad-hoc requests to be achieved via configuration and small extensions (new sensors, metrics, or formats).
• Ensure data model is scalable with proper indexing and query performance; maintain monitoring and alerting for pipeline health; traceability of figures back to raw data.
• Coordinate with annotation and field ops to meet delivery dates; provide capacity/lead-time estimates to go-to-market.

Requirement Rationale

• Core mandatory: 4+ years of professional software engineering with full-stack ownership; experience building/operating services on AWS (ECS/EC2, S3, IAM); solid Postgres skills; experience building internal tools/dashboards; experience running production systems; experience orchestrating batch/compute-heavy workloads; based in Lahore or Islamabad and on-site.
• Preferred: experience with computer-vision/sensor pipelines; data-quality/annotation workflows; IoT/edge devices; startup/small-team ownership; Retool.
