Role Mission

Senior Rails on Ruby Developer will own critical web applications and APIs, driving scalable architectures and performance at scale, mentoring engineers, and partnering with Product, Design, and DevOps to deliver reliable software in an Agile environment.

Performance Expectations

• Within the first 3 months: become familiar with the codebase, contribute to architectural decisions, help establish and improve CI/CD pipelines, expand automated tests with RSpec, and begin performance improvements on critical endpoints.
• By months 6-12: own architecture decisions for features, optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries, implement effective caching strategies, strengthen security and reliability at scale, mentor junior engineers, and lead deployments and on-call readiness.

Requirement Rationale

• Non-negotiable: deep Ruby on Rails proficiency; strong PostgreSQL experience and familiarity with Redis/Sidekiq for asynchronous tasks; solid REST API design and testing with RSpec; containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes; robust Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Preferred but not mandatory: GraphQL experience, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), Terraform for infrastructure as code, and advanced observability tooling (New Relic, Datadog, Sentry).
